Stardate: 11/12/2004 Setting: a cold Minnesota Friday night A younger, and much more handsome Brandon Ivers arrives at my studio (aka, my parent's basement) What did he bring with him...? A half-baked track, burned onto a CDR! We proceeded to work late into the night, and most likely we worked the following night as well. But alas, the track was never fully completed. So why am I writing about this now? What importance is this unfinished track three years later? If we couldn't finish it three years ago, the track must suck huh? Actually, yeah the original track did suck. Here's a link to it: Version 1, from 2004 How is this blog post's title "Growth and Learning" pertinent? Well, I came across this old track while cleaning up my file server, and decided it was good enough to give it a rehash. This is one of the main reasons why I love working in a mostly software studio. The ability to bounce between multiple tracks, and revisit old tracks is invaluable. My music production work habits aren't nearly as strict as I'd like them to be, and often I'll let a track sit for days (or in this case years) before finishing it. So anyhow, here's the remix: Version 7, from 2007
